Together with this you can add in numerous ducks & geese, a few too many chooks, and our newest editions - our race horses (Far Encounter - Hayil & Pace - Disaster Area - Yeknod & Tiffany).
HISTORY OF TARRARAY
It just happened that when I met Wayne, I had a lovely Belgian cross Collie named Tara. Unfortunately we lost her to someone baiting in the area. Of course being a dog person and a vet nurse, I had to have a dog almost immediately, so along came Matilda. Wayne and I were married in February 1998, and travelled south to Adelaide. Whilst there we attended a very large dog show and ended up with Darce for 2 weeks on our honeymoon. Our first Belgian and I have and still are extending from there.
WHAT DOES TARRARAY MEAN ?
Tarraray was derived from Tara, my first Belgian cross and Ray, my father who we have lost to cancer. |

BREEDING PHILOSOPHY
We had our first litter in May 2000, and are extremely proud of this litter. Darce was mated to Vadim du Pre' du Vieux Pont (imp Belg). From the first litter we have 2 girls and 2 boys in the show ring who have excelled with the two girls obtaining their Australian Championships and the two boys becoming Australian Grand Champions. In the last 6 years we have gone from strength to strength in the show ring with Multiple In Show, In Group and Class in Show wins. We breed for temperament and type. We are an exclusive small kennel with a selective breeding programme.
OUR VISION
With Darce our first Belgian coming into our lives in 1998 we had big visions and were very novice to the breed. Our first litter in 2000 taught us what we should be looking for. With the help of other breeders, friends and judges along the way we have gone from strength to strength in our knowledge and vision for our breed. Our vision is to breed Belgian Shepherds, first and foremost, with wonderful characters, followed by true type that can excel in all areas of the dog arenas. Health is a major concern to us with us ensuring we do the best possible to test and avoid any health issues within the breed. We have completed our original vision by winning big in the showring in Australia and now hope to take this vision worldwide with our first export soon to hit the rings in the United States. We have now trained dogs for use in Delta work and are looking towards a Belgian for AATA (Animal Assisted Therapy Australia). Most importantly, our vision is not to loose touch with the fun we can have with our dogs and to continue loving, spending time with our dogs, travelling the countryside, showing our dogs and enjoying our family and friends.
